Irene Veretta BELCHER, 75, passed this life Friday, February 22, 2013 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness.
Mrs. Belcher was born on Thursday, December 30, 1937 to the late Willie and Dinah Hairston Preston in Upland, West Virginia and had lived in Mansfield the past 52 years. Prior to moving to Mansfield Irene pursued a degree in elementary education at West Virginia State College and Bluefield State College. Irene was the perfect homemaker who cared for her husband and children with much love and the quiet look. She was a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she was a member of the Senior Usher Board and she served as Past President and currently Vice President. Whenever her church called on her she actively and willingly served when she was called upon. Her participation in the feeding the hungry program is just one example.

Michael) Phillips, Silver Springs, Maryland, and nephew: Timothy (Melinda) Preston Mansfield.
