Jerry Jerome WILLIAMS, 58, died Friday, in Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland after a brief illness.
Mr. Williams was born in Mansfield and had lived in Baltimore the past 25 years. Jerry was a computer analyst for the Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services a division of the Federal Government. He was born and raised in Mansfield, moving to Cleveland where he attended college to study to become a draftsman. While in Cleveland he worked as a draftsman on several buildings deciding that wasn't his interest. He then moved to Atlanta where he taught school and began studying computers becoming an analyst, settleling in Baltimore. Jerry enjoyed fishing, taking fishing trips and cooking for family and friends . Even though he left home, his heart remained here by staying in touch with his family with numerous phone calls weekly just to pick and joke.
Jerry is survived by his Son: Indreal Williams of Columbus; his mother Rasheedah Fuqua Zarif of Mansfield; 5 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters: Brenda Oden of Mansfield, and Delores (Charles)Black of Indianapolis, Indianapolis; 4 Nieces and Nephews including a special niece, Crystal Oden of Mansfield; and his Companion: Karen Jackson of Baltimore; a special Aunt: Buena Kelly of Mansfield and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Julius Williams, and man's best friend his dog Amos a Newfoundland.
Services:
Funeral services will be held Monday, at 11:00 A.M. in the Ruth Anna Lee Williams Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Services by Rev. Steven Taylor, Associate Minister with the Providence Baptist Church. Friends my call at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of Jerry's mother, 147 Bowman St. from now till the day of the funeral services.
