Obituary:
Sammie Lee LIKELY, SR., 60, of 195 Rowland Ave. died Saturday, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Likely was born in Evergreen, Alabama and had lived in Mansfield the past 42? years. Sam enjoyed driving and traveling which he was able to incorporate into his work life as the owner of Sam & Son Trucking, driving semis. As a former member of the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church he continued his joy of traveling by serving as one of the church bus drivers taking the church on many trips. He also attended the New Beginings Full Gospel Baptist Church and was a member of the Roadrunners Motorcycle Club until his illness. Sam is survived by 2 Daughters: Velma (Tony) Bond of Mansfield, and Belinda (Jay) Lindsay of Lexington Park, Maryland; 2 Sons: Sammie (Torri) Likely, Jr. of Mansfield, and Donald (Laura) Jackson of Brewton, Alabama; 13 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandson; 2 Sisters: Rosie Strong, and Carrie Strong both of Columbus; 5 Brothers: Huzell (Kate) Strong of Columbus, Herman (Wyvonnie) Jones of Evergreen, Willie B. (Shirley) Likely, and Willie E.(Kathy) Likely both of Mansfield, and Frank (Daisy) Strong, Jr. of Jackson, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents Nolon Montgomery and Sally Likely Strong, his son Brian Likely, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers.

Services:
Friends may call Friday after 2 in the Ruth Anna Lee Williams Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Service where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p. m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 10:00 A.M. in the Latter Rain Church Of God In Christ with Elder Louis Blevins officiating and the eulogy being delivered by his son-in-law Minister Tony Bond. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery. The family will also receive friends daily at Sam's home from 4-8 p.m. til the day of service.
