Elma D. HOWARD, 76, died Tuesday, in Liberty Nursing Center after an extended illness.
Ms. Howard was born to the late Dan and Beatrice Taylor Hafford, Sr. in Brownsville, Tennessee and had lived in Mansfield the past 56 years. She was a former employee of the Independent Towel Company and a member of the New Beginnings Full Gospel Baptist Church.
Elma is survived by 2 Sons: Christopher A. Howard of Akron, and Jeffrey (Lisa) Howard, Sr. of Columbus; 6 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandson; 2 Brothers: Dan Hafford, Jr. of Mansfield, and John (Angela) Hafford of Akron; 2 Sisters: Dr. Bobbie (Dr. Reginald) Baugh, and Maxine McDowell both of Ann Arbor, MIichigan; 2 Special Friends: Johnnie Mae Thompson, and Consuelo "Tiny" Jackson both of Mansfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents Elma was also preceded in death by 2 brothers Oliver Tony Hafford, and Joe Hafford, and 2 sisters Laverne Martin, and Beatrice Bond.
Services:
Friends may call Saturday from 10 to 11 a. m. in the Ruth Anna Lee Williams Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Service where the family will be present. A graveside service will be held in Mansfield Cemetery immediately following the viewing with Bishop Melvin Griffin of the Ressurection Ministries Of All The Peoples Church of Columbus officiating.
